When passion for cooking turns into a profession!

"Allow your passion to become your purpose, and will one day become your profession”-Mohanjeet, Owner Red Carpet.

He stood by his own statement and transformed his dream into a reality. Born and brought up in Gurdaspur, Punjab, Mohanjeet had an inborn passion for cooking which leads him all the way through. Driving through this dream, he completed his Hotel Management and worked with Taj Hotels in Goa which provided him with a great boost and paved way for – Red Carpet, a transformation of a dream into a live reality.

Cooking being his all- time favourite passion, he loves to cook in his restaurant’s kitchen, whenever he gets time. His favourite cooking dish are Rolls, Paranthas (that is highly popular among tourists) and Paneer Butter Masala.

Mohanjeet says that while staying in Goa, he often misses the home cooked Punjabi food which gave birth to the idea of serving typical north Indian food to Goans and the tourists visiting the area and started Red Carpet in 2011. Red Carpet has now become a home away from home from all those north Indian food lovers.

A multi-cuisine restaurant, Red Carpet is nestled in the Madgaon city of Goa – a land of sea, surf and beaches. With 2 branches of Red Carpet, one is a complete Family restaurant and the other one is the Bar and Restaurant. Creating smoking and vibrant flavours in the kitchen with more than 40 dishes that aims to serve happiness to their customers, Red Carpet holds an out of the box savour for – Crispy Mixed Vegetable and Paneer Butter Masala.

A dedicated team of 15 chefs along with the continuous support of Mr Mohanjeet works passionately serving the customers. Being the tourist hub, Red Carpet Goa receives more than 100 visitors a day and this number increases in multiples at weekends when visitor influx is greatly high, relishing the lip-smacking dishes.

According to Mohanjeet, his greatest accolade is the appreciation that he receives from his customers and smiles of the people which showcase their satisfaction with the food that is being served there.

Hygiene, quality and taste are what he believes is crucial in serving the customers. A cooking expert in himself, Mohanjeet has also hosted two episodes of India Zaika at DoorDarshan.
If any of the special memories he could recall at his restaurant, it was when popular Bollywood and Pop singer Late Labh Janjua visited Red Carpet.

Red Carpet started offering food services to train travellers from February 2015. According to Mohanjeet,-“the idea of serving people with food on the go is interesting yet exciting”. Sharing some memorable experiences, Mohanjeet recalls of serving 90 train travellers (Mumbai Express) even when the train was delayed for quite long hours. That’s not all, going out of the way, Red Carpet even managed to deliver Black-current cake on special request of a train traveller.

With a motive to serve more customers, Mohanjeet plans to open another Family restaurant at Vasco which will be near to the Goa airport, within 3 months time.
